Newsletter 2020-10: Men's Golf League -

Despite the untimely passing of Steve Phillips on May 2nd, the Men's Golf League is active with the following restrictions:

  1. Masks are to be worn inside all SEPO buildings that are open

  2. Only one person per riding golf cart

  3. Social distancing while on the course

  4. Open to residents only – no visiting relatives or other guests

On a personal note, I am in dire need of an understudy when people return. Someone who is willing to take charge on April 1, 2021, because I already have five years of service as the understudy or President and am not going for six. Please contact me if you are interested in supporting your community’s Men’s Golf League.

Sent 2020-10-02: Saturday Golf Scramble -

There are only four people signed up for the proposed re-start of this activity October 3rd. Therefore, it is cancelled until further notice. The $1 prize fee will be returned to those who have paid.

We are disappointed that the interest in the scrambles appears to have diminished. These attracted as many as 90 participants in the past, and provided friendly competition and the opportunity to become acquainted with other residents.

We will consider starting this again, if there is sufficient interest expressed, or more residents have returned to our community.

If someone else wants to attempt a re-start, please contact us for materials.

Sent 2020-09-23: Women's Golf Playday -

It’s been decided to start up our summer golf playdays. Some golfers are returning to our community, so hopefully will have enough to play. Our first playday will be September 30th and continue ongoing on Wednesday mornings. Meet in front of the Lounge at 8:45. Anyone who enters the lounge will need to wear a mask. Players will sign up then and get their hole assignments. Play will start at 9:00. Bring $1 to play. Winnings will be paid out of money collected. Golfers will play their own balls. You will not need to wear a mask when playing but do keep 6 ft away from other players. Only one person permitted per riding golf cart.
