Hi again all. If you are having difficulty with the process explained in the e-mail below on how to get to the October 2019 Newsletter, HERE is the direct link to THAT Newsletter only. Going forward I will include the direct link to that month's document and also include the instructions below if you want to view any other Newsletters from the past. Sorry to anyone having issues with the original instructions below.

Sent 2019-09-29: Newsletter 2019-10

Hi All - This is our first Newsletter for the 2019-2020 Winter season.

The Newsletter Guidelines can be found here:
The process for distributing the Newsletter to all of you is going to be different ongoing in order to get the info to you timely and in a format where you can see all of the effort that has been put into several of the articles sent to me by your Sunshine neighbors. And everything will be in COLOR.  Of course, the Newsletter will still always be available via print in the Sunshine Library.

The primary difference is that - instead of typing the Newletter in this e-mail (and you not being able to see any of the pictures contained in the Newsletter) you can find the document here: You will see that it is available in both WORD and PDF documents. If you have the software to open the WORD document, you will be able to click on any 'links' that are contained in the document. If you can only open the PDF document, you will need to copy and paste 'links' that are contained in the document.

Also note that going back to October 2018 all published Newsletters can be found on the Sunshine Web site here:

Hopefully, this change will be acceptable by all of you. If anyone is vehemently opposed, please contact me and we can discuss. Thx so much for giving this process a try. And I can't wait to see all of my TX friends soon.

Sent 2019-09-17: Former Resident Death -

I have recently been informed of the passing of longtime Winter Texans, Ozzie and Muriel Rognes. They were dear friends to many of us "older residents". They loved to walk the streets together, and play cards and golf with all.  A few years ago they spent there time in a nursing home back in Iowa near family and friends.

Ozzie passed away in March and Muriel joined him on July 30.     Lorraine Lewis

Sent 2019-09-10: COMBES NATIONAL NIGHT OUT this Thursday 12 September 2019 -

Dear Friends -

Thanks for taking you time to support Combes PD with National Night Out.  They have worked hard to present a good show and they are most grateful for our participation.

I have some volunteers already but if you wish to help, please call me.

Vic   Sherry  Wade  Tiffany  Jean  and Mac could use a few more to help.

📋 Please report no later than 5pm  (4:45pm is better)    Thurs  12 September

Combes PD and Town Hall buildings

                       21626 Hand Road  Combes

You should be done by 6:15 pm or so when most visitors are parked. Dress comfortable.

Our - your job is to cover the parking for guests on the south end of Hand Road PD complex (No bump a cars need to apply 🙃).

You will see a fenced in area with a tan cover on the fence, the street entrance is paved and directly across is a grassy area.

The fenced area is for the guest parking and the greasy area by the PD parking lot is for us Volunteers to park.  I have ORANGE cards for your vehicle.

Some handicapped and special "show" vehicles (like Jack Scott's antique Mercedes) will be parked on the street area between the building and the park/pavilion area.

(Large vehicle traffic, all agencies - PD FD EMS etc will park in another designated area on the North end entrance to the rear of the entire property. where they will showcase their stuff and the helo will land)  Encore will handle this.

You will need an Orange Vest for visibility while parking cars. safety thing.

I have them if you need one.

Marsha Santow will be at a table showing off our NW and CERT.  All SEPO folks are invited to come and sit (even bring your chair).  Free stuff,  food, music, meet n greet, fun, lots of visiting.  Hope to see lots of you up there for this.

If this applies to you: re Golf carts
Sgt Brenda Combes PD will escort our Golf carts up to Combes PD parking lot on Thursday at 9am sharp (our Front gate)  BRING YOUR CHARGER  They will be changed for the NNO, then left overnight, charged again and on Friday we will have an escort back home at 9am.

**  Please,     Maybe some volunteers can help us Thursday morning with picking us up at Combes and with returning us home again that evening.

And on Friday morning we will need a ride up to Combes to get the Golf carts.

Call me please.

I am taking the McGruffmobile up there and my personal Golf cart too.

If you are not doing a safety patrol up there, feel free to hang out and enjoy the evening.  Combes PD is especially proud of how we at SCCE work together.

Any question or concerns, call me  956 245 1276
