I have been requested to send the following Scam Alerts (two of them) from two different people, to the Sunshine Community.

Sunshine Residents

 

It has come to my attention that, twice in the past several months, scammers have used the names and information of Sunshine residents to claim that money is needed to pay a bill. These scams involve using actual residents' email addresses and names.

 

The scam reads that a named resident is having trouble paying a bill or invoice through Cash App or PayPal and asks if you can help pay it for them. Please make sure that if you receive one of these emails, let me know, and also reach out to the people named in the scam. This scam is convincing because it includes our neighbors' names, so be careful with any request for money.

PLEASE NOTE: A scam is going around the community where you receive an email that appears to be from the president of one of our clubs (their name is listed as sender). The correct president appears to be the sender and the correct treasurer’s name is in the body of the email. The sender is asking you to send money to pay an invoice via electronic means. The email states the treasurer doesn’t have an app, or can’t do this themselves. Please call the supposed sender and confirm this is a scam. The monetary amount varies in each instance.

The agenda for the Mon, April 13, 2026 Board Meeting (Regular) iwas attached and can also be viewed on / printed from the Sunshine website HERE.

A paper copy of this agenda was posted in the SEPO office, on the poolside door into Retzlaff Hall and by the mailboxes on April 6, 2026, therefore, meeting the requirement of making it available to the community by the required 72 hours ahead of the meeting. Due to SEPO mailbox issues on Monday, it is just now being sent to the community via email.

FYI - I will be unable to send SEPO emails or make Sunshine website updates after 1 PM this coming Thursday, until this Fri or Sat evenings. This is because I will be turning in my Spectrum equipment on Thu and heading north for the summer on Friday morning, April 10.

The Sunshine Summer Golf League:

• will start this Tuesday April 7th

• will run until the end of October

• is open to both men and women with separate flights and CTP’s for both

• is a handicapped league 

• cost to play is $1.00 per week which will be paid back in the prize fund

We will draw teams at 8:45 and have a 9:00 tee time.

Everyone is welcome to attend any league day.

Hello Sunshine Neighbors!

Due to the weather forecast the Easter Sunrise service is being cancelled. I am so sorry, but hallelujah for the much needed rain!

 

Please join us for 10:00 am service in Friendship Hall next door. If you have never been to a service next door I highly recommend it. Pastor Allen’s quick wit and humor make for an uplifting service.

 

The potluck will be held in Friendship Hall at 12:30.
