Last evening I received e-mails from two residents in our community. They both contained updates concerning the RGV and Covid-19 (vaccinations, etc). I hope you feel the same. Also - Please contact the e-mail composer if you have any questions. I have posted those e-mails on the SEPO Covid-19 page HERE.

The resident who found the dog this morning has just been contacted by the Humane Society. The dog's owner, who lived over a mile from Sunshine, has been reconnected with the dog.     Beth Parrish

Sent 2020-12-26: Have you Lost a Dog -

One of our residents reached out to me early this morning. They had a lost dog in their office. It's a male beagle-looking dog without a collar. They went to a vet to see if it was chipped and it couldn't be read. There's no phone number so they took it to the Humane Society, who is going to do an outreach program for it and take good care of it. So please contact the Humane Society if you believe this might be your dog.     Beth Parrish

WOMEN'S CLUB: SUNSHINE GOLF CART SCAVENGER HUNT

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19th, 1:00 - 3:00PM

JOIN US FOR A FUN AFTERNOON IN A GOLF CART SCAVENGER HUNT.

The first Sunshine Golf Cart Scavenger Hunt will take place in Sunshine Country Club Estate Saturday, December 19th from 1 pm to 3 pm.

You can sign up via one of two methods: (1) in the library or (2) e-mail Sue at sswidryk007@aol.com. You must get on the list in order to participate in this activity.

Deadline for signup is TODAY, Wednesday, December 16th @ 5PM.

On the day of the event meet in front of the office 10 minutes or so prior to 1 PM. That's where you will be given 'hunt' instructions and your clues. If you are late, you may get a late start on accumulating points (see below).

Golf cart teams are challenged to earn the most points while cruising around Sunshine searching for items for which they have been given clues. Teams can be one or two people. First and second place awards will be given for the most points a team accumulates. Don't forget to have your golf cart batteries charged or your gas tank full.

Just to clarify - You will never need to get out of your golf cart. The answer to all of the clues will be evident from the comfort of your cart.

It might be benificial to you if you were to cruise around the STREETS of the Estates prior to the event in order to familiarize yourself with various items in people's yards, driveways, rooftops (yikes) etc. This may save you some precious time on Sat.

NOTE: You will not need to drive along the Reasaca edge or go into the Storage Lot area. Only the Streets.

Remember to wear masks and follow social distancing rules.

Hope to see you there.

No, I am not a preacher. I have many friends that will vouch for that. I am sending this out not as a sermon, but because I care.

Yesterday, we lost 3,046 souls due to the virus in the US. This is more than the lives lost at Pearl Harbor or 911. Let that sink in for a moment. This is serious and our health experts maintain that the next couple months could be very “dark” for our country.

We, here in our Community, have been doing an excellent job in trying to keep this thing at bay.  Now is certainly not the time to ease up, but to be extra careful. The holidays will put a strain on this, but we can keep ahead of this thing, by showing some patience and using common sense.

I love this Community, and my wish is that everyone here stay healthy and safe.

Sent 2020-12-10: non - resident strange vehicle in Sunshine -

Dear Friends -

As reported to me this morning by a long time resident........:

Last evening as I pulled thru the Front Gate a red vehicle quickly followed me in.

I followed him around to see where his destination was but there was no specific address.  The red (?) FireBird Trams Am car with hot pipes drove around, then when approached, scooted into Indiana Circle.

The plate could not be seen, it was not apparent a delivery was being made.
The driver did not answer why he was in here when questioned.

I asked - did you call the Police. - No, -  had hesitation.

Dear Residents, There is a sign at the Gate reading NO TRESPASSING
If you see something - say something.
I don't want you to get hurt. The relationship we have with PD is - they know we are not making a phony call and they will respond. Our community has a good reputation thanks to our faithful Neighborhood Watch.

I am thankful for the notification.. The Office and Board are aware.  Possibly they can check our cameras at the  Front Gate.  We could use a Task Force for the Cameras if you would like to help.  Just notify the Board.

Until then -  stay safe.  😷❤󾓦

Deadline for signup is Wednesday, December 16th @ 5PM.

Remember to wear masks and follow social distancing rules.

Hope to see you there.
