Sent 2020-02-29: Missing -
A golf cart yard whirly-gig is missing from my front yard. (1937 W Iowa) It mounts on a steel post, is basically flat, it turned with the wind, and the four wheels spin in the wind. It's has been there, when we are here, (I doubt that the wind carried it off), for over 15 years. But I thought it was worth a chance that someone has found it.

Sent _2020-02-25: Call out for NW Patrol - Friday - Saturday 28 & 29 Feburary for Estate Sale -
Dear Friends, In the past I have used our NW roster for a call-out. With Beth's approach for announcements for Sunshine, I shall take advantage of this modern technology.
So, this is a call-out for Neighborhood Watch. Please do a random patrol during 8a - 5p - for both days, walk the dog, ride in your Golf Cart - but wear your Orange Vest - this gives the treasure hunters pause for thought.
Estate Sales and Garage Sales generally are advertised and entice many visitors.
Observe and report. Per usual, the family requested this. As always, the HPD & Combes will do an extra ATP (Area To Patrol) assignment thru here.

Sent 2020-02-24: MEETING NOTICE: Womens' Club 2020-2021 Activities Planning -
I know you enjoy attending the Womens' Club (WC) activities each season - RIGHT !!!
Well - Those activities don't just 'come out of the blue' and magically happen.
Each year we hold a 'planning' session, led by the current WC Activities Director. At this meeting, attendees are given the opportunity to present idea(s) for activities for the upcoming season. Then we discuss pros & cons of these ideas and decide what goes into the calendar. This list of WC proposed events must be presented to the SEPO Board for their approval by the next Board of Directors meeting on Mar 9, 2020.
In order to meet this deadline, the planning session is scheduled for March 3rd at 10 AM in Retzlaff Hall. This is an open invitation for you to get your ideas out there on the table. And for those of you who are new, it's a great way to meet new residents and learn how this all works behind the scenes.
Also - At this meeting it is customary to try and determine who would be willing to chair or work on the committees of these activites or have attendees put forth name(s) of people they think/know would be willing to chair or work on them. Never fear - There are WC Committee Guidelines to assist all Chairperson(s) and Committe members with what needs to be done to plan and carry out an event. These guidelines are availabe in the WC file drawer outside the SEPO Office and also on the Web site: https://www.sunshinecountryclub.com/wc-rules
So please come and be heard.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

WALL OF HONOR
This is a final call for this season for our residents who served in the armed forces of all nations and the men and women in our community who served as Police Officers, Fire Fighters and EMT/First Responders. The service wall plans are moving along. The wall display is to recognize residents living and deceased where the surviving spouse or other relation resides within the estates.
I will be available in the library on March 12, 2020 between 10:00 and 12:00 to take pictures and accept applications. If you have a picture I will be accepting them at these times.
If residents want their picture or their spouse’s picture included on the wall they will need to fill out an application form. These forms are available in the office. Check with Valerie to get one, or see me. My information is below. She also has pledge forms available if you need one.
The picture you provide for use will be copied and returned, please write on the application form so that I can return your picture.
All name plates and pictures that are placed on the wall and in the book should remain there indefinitely.
I want to inform our residents on the status of this project. The wall is installed and the name plates are ordered. Engraving is being done on 28 of the plates, as that is the amount of applicants we had when the order was placed. Additional plates will be engraved as we receive applications.
The pledges that I asked for at the Annual Meeting are coming in with many neighbors preferring to make cash donations rather than a pledge. I am keeping an accounting of all donations and expenditures and will make it available for anyone to see upon request.
It is hoped that the first name plates will be on the wall very soon. Thank you for your pledges and donations towards this project and for those still to come in.

Sent 2020-02-15: Women's Club Event: REMEMBER WHEN -
Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, it’s time to advertise our next Women’s Club sponsored event to be held next Saturday evening, February 22nd.
This program, entitled REMEMBER WHEN, has been in the works since 2007 when Lassey Dahlstrom directed and produced the ALL STAR REVIEW. You will be entertained with shorts selected from six different shows produced and directed by Lassey. The most recent of which, NOW AND THEN, was produced in 2016.
Some of you will see yourself and all of you will laugh and be amazed at just what people OUR age will do to entertain while having some of the best times of our lives. There is a little ‘show biz’ in most of us. You newer residents just might be inspired with some ideas of your own for the future.
We start at 7:00 p.m. Virtual tickets are just $5.00 and are available in the library now. Lassey’s family is providing refreshments including champagne punch following the program.

The Sunshine Women’s Golf Lunch Stand was a big hit today even though it was held inside Retzlaff Hall due to the weather. If you missed it, the plan for Friday (as long as the weather improves) is to serve lunch under the pool pavilion from 11 am to 1 pm. If the weather is still too chilly, it well be held in Retzlaff Hall again.
This is open to everyone whether you play in the Good Neighbor Tournament or not.
Cost is $5.00. Friday we will have brats, hot dogs, chili and sloppy joes. It also includes chips and a drink. Extra sandwiches or bowl of chili will be available for an additional $2.00. Please pass the word and support the Women’s Golf League. See you there!

With sad news, Tiffany and Wade Prater's grandfather Pete passed away peacefully this morning. He moved down here in 2018 and lived at Angel Care Acres. So many of our wonderful neighbors ask about my grandfather on a daily basis. A lot of you know he was 100 years old and still drinking his shot of bourbon every day...sometimes two!
Thank you for all your prayers and support through this difficult time, it means the world to us.
